That’s right, head bangers! We are taking over THE ROXY in Los Angeles for METAL ARMY NIGHT Presents: MASTODON ‘The Hunter’ Record Release Party on Monday, September 26th! You will not want to miss the amazing night we have planned for you. Doors to ON THE ROX will open at 8PM and at 8:15PM sharp, we will play MASTODON’s ‘The Hunter’ in its entirety!
As if that wasn’t enough, right after the album plays, IT’S CASUAL will play a blistering punk rock set to celebrate the release of ‘The New Los Angeles’. At 10PM, WARBRINGER will join us to play their all time favorite metal hits as Metal Army’s guest DJs.
Capping off the night, at 11:15PM we will play ‘The Hunter’ one more time because it’s so nice that you need to hear it twice!
This album is easily the best slab of metal that you’ll hear all year and we’ve got plenty of other reasons for you to hang out with us at THE ROXY.

In case you haven’t heard, we are throwing the official MASTODON record release party for ‘The Hunter’ on Monday (Sept 26th) in LA! It’s completely free to attend and there will be awesome bands, guest DJs and tons of surprises planned throughout the night. Doors open at 8PM at THE ROXY in Los Angeles so don’t miss out!
However, that isn’t the only thing happening in the MASTODON camp. We just got word that the band will be performing live on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ on October 5th. The show will air at 11:35PM on CBS and will surely be a performance for the ages. Tune in and support a really incredible band from our scene as they begin to get the recognition they deserve!

WINDS OF PLAGUE released one of the catchiest albums of the year and then toured all summer as part of Warped Tour. Now, you get to see them in a full scale headlining tour along with several other best young metal bands in the country. That’s right, METAL ARMY is sponsoring the upcoming 2011 edition of THRASH AND BURN tour, which will be headlined by the 909′s finest WINDS OF PLAGUE.
CHELSEA GRIN, AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK, FOR THE FALLEN DREAMS, UPON A BURNING BODY, IN THE MIDST OF LIONS, LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES and VOLUMES will also be on the road as part of the tour. This is going to be a huge tour and, if you like to mosh, you DO NOT want to miss it!

Tonight is the night and I couldn’t be more stoked for one of our events. In my opinion, this is the most exciting METAL ARMY NIGHT we’ve brought to you yet! Number one, it’s a Big 4 pre-party — who would’ve thought that we would one-day get to throw this kind of event in NYC? I sure didn’t…. Secondly, it really is an honor to have the mighty John Joseph (Cro-Mags) coming out to DJ this event, I’m a huge fan of his and this will no doubt be epic! And third, our bros from Metal Insider, MetalSucks and Metal Injection are all coming together to make this a party for the ages!
The party will start at 7PM tonight at IDLE HANDS BAR on Avenue B in Manhattan so be there then! We have $4 beers from Lagunitas, Smuttynose, Oskar Blues and Ballast Point and IDLE HANDS has become famous for their amazing bourbon and beer selections. John Joseph will start DJing at 9PM and you’ll also get to hear a ton of METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX tonight!
What more can we say, this is going to be a party for the ages tonight!
That’s right! METAL ARMY NIGHT is coming back to the city that started it all – and we’re doing it much bigger than ever before! METAL-ARMY.COM has teamed with legendary Sunset Strip club THE ROXY to bring METAL ARMY NIGHT to THE ROXY on September 26th!
We have a jam-packed evening for you guys and we will be taking over both the downstairs venue and their upstairs night club, ON THE ROX, for a night that is sure to blow away everyone in attendance. This time, METAL ARMY NIGHT will present the official MASTODON record release party for their latest opus ‘The Hunter’. You will have the chance to hear the new album in its entirety and hang out with other metal fans and industry people upstairs at ON THE ROX beginning at 8PM.
Also upstairs, IT’S CASUAL, the hardcore punk staple of Los Angeles will play a full set in support of the re-release of their album ‘The New Los Angeles’. You may have seen IT’S CASUAL on the road with MASTODON but, if you haven’t, you will be blown away by the raw energy that this fiery two-piece brings to the stage.
As if that wasn’t enough already, WARBRINGER will be on-hand at METAL ARMY NIGHT and frontman JOHN KEVILL will man the DJ booth, playing all the best metal. You’ll also get the chance to celebrate the release of WARBRINGER’s third album ‘Worlds Torn Asunder’ with the band who will be drinking and hanging out all night long.
So far, that’s THREE awesome reasons to get your ass to METAL ARMY NIGHT in Los Angeles… but we’re not done yet!

That’s right, NYC! We are back this month with our biggest and best party yet…. and this time some friends came along! The “Big Four” metal blogs: METAL-ARMY.COM, MetalSucks, MetalInjection & MetalInsider are teaming up to offer the only BIG FOUR PRE-PARTY in NYC.
On September 13th (it’s a Tuesday) at 7PM, we will take over IDLE HANDS BAR in Manhattan for the Big Four Pre-Party. Joining us will be CRO-MAGS’ iconic front man JOHN JOSEPH for a special guest DJ set. Big Four drafts will be only $4 all night long (Ballast Point, Lagunitas, Oskar Blues & Smuttynose). Not only that, but there is one MEGA ANNOUNCEMENT that is going to be revealed as we get closer to the party.
