This weekend the internet ignited with news of LIFE OF AGONY frontman Keith Caputo undergoing gender reassignment surgery. Now, this isn’t the first time that a metal musician has done this as CRETIN’s Marissa Martinez made headlines everywhere a couple years ago for undergoing the same procedure. However, LIFE OF AGONY is obviously a much bigger act than CRETIN in the eyes of the mainstream, which makes this all the more interesting to see metal fan’s reactions.

Notoriously, metal heads are NOT the most open minded to lifestyle differences but in the year 2011, one would hope that this isn’t an issue that will cause fans to turn off ‘River Runs Red’ or ‘Ugly’ anytime soon. Just look at the above footage from a show this past weekend. Obviously the band hasn’t suffered from this so hopefully the fans don’t choose to make it an issue either.
