FRANKIE BANALI Q&A

Monday, August 30th, 2010

QUIET RIOT is a the first hard rock/metal act to achieve a Billboard Number 1 with their album Metal Health. This is also the band to give the world RANDY RHOADS among other great musicians that have passed through their ranks. Recently I conducted an interview with their drummer FRANKIE BANALI for my podcast “Mars Attack”, he came on the show to discuss a documentary he is trying to put together. After releasing this episode of my podcast I was sent a bunch of questions by fans that I hadn’t asked during the interview. As a result I contacted Frankie to see if he would be willing to do a Q&A interview for Metal Army America to help get these questions out there and further awareness of what he’s currently trying to accomplish.

1. You’ve joined up with Kickstarter.com to raise money to fund a Quiet Riot documentary. Why did you choose to work with Kickstarter?

The Kickstarter.com system makes sense. It makes it possible to give a clear and in detail synopsis of the project and makes it possible for me to update “Backers Only” video footage that may be used in the documentary, although so of the clips may not make it to the final cut and only the backers will ever be privy to see those clips. And there is no risk to the backers since the funding is secure through Amazon.com and no funds are transferred unless the project meets its minimum goal.

2. When people become a backer of the project they receive all types of cool items in return. How did you determine what backers will receive?

It was calculated based on the level of the backing. Each backer dollar amount level receives a unique package, each increasing level receives each previous package plus the added items for that level.

3. Was it a case of someone saying jokingly “hey Frankie why don’t you buy someone dinner or give lessons”, or was this something that you as a fan would have wanted to do with one of your idols?

Each idea was created based on the level of financial support and I just wanted to make it uniquely interesting and rewarding for the fans and supporters.
