Oh Hey, BRING ME THE HORIZON Are On Tour

guaranteed payday loans

Well, BRING ME THE HORIZON kicked off their headlining tour a couple nights ago and tonight they will be taking over Los Angeles. Like them or not, they are currently one of the biggest bands in all of the metal scene and I’m sure they will do well on this tour. Especially since they are bringing PARKWAY DRIVE and ARCHITECTS UK with them. As a fan of 90s-inspired poppy hardcore, I do quite enjoy ARCHITECTS UK and urge you to get your ass out to see them on this trek! DEEZ NUTZ and WHILE SHE SLEEPS are also on the bill, two bands that I do not care about but I imagine the kids do!

This will be a huge tour this fall, so if you’re 16, maybe you can catch this tour and find a girlfriend for yourself. Otherwise, just go for ARCHITECTS UK!

The Birth, I Mean Afterbirth of Cool

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Have you actually seen the record reviews that take up bandwidth on our fine website? Encoffination? A label profile of Hell’s Headbanger’s Records? C’mon.

I probably have the coolest and finest tastes in modern metal. I kick back in my Marina Del Ray apartment, crank a little NAILS followed by the latest BLAZE BAYLEY solo LP (no irony there) and some classic EXCITER. That is, of course, until my wife tells me to turn it the fuck down.

Yes, over time, I’ve passed into the realm of metal’s hiperati if I do say so myself. I almost feel like I can name-drop the coolest names at our next Metal Army cocktail party (these will be the much more civilized version of those plebian Metal Army nights that I go to, have a few too many brews and make an ass of myself at). I’ll state here and now that the legions of dudes in GATES OF SLUMBER T-shirts getting all hot and bothered about trying to collect the 16 feces brown vinyl 12” versions of an ultra rare Profound Lore record doesn’t mean a lot in the real world.

I mean really. When Coffinworm is the biggest name you’ve heard of all month on the reviews on this site – Jeez Louize, I understand why Best Buy can’t stock the latest Southern Lord or Profound Lore releases! What incentive are you giving the poor guy who has to bring these records in. There’s no trickle down going on here! It’s down and it is staying there!

Not that you don’t have a right to your opinions and actually quite good taste but we have reached the tipping point of cool-for-cool’s-sake.

Here’s my defense of why you should be thankful when an AS I LAY DYING, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, PARKWAY DRIVE or BLACK LABEL SOCIETY record hits the racks at your local Target or Best Buy.

(BTW: Best Buy is about to severally reduce CD space in most of their stores by year’s end. It’s also my defense of nu metal, metalcore and anything else straight outta the Jugalo Nation. Red State Metal if you will.)

EVERGREEN TERRACE RELEASE VIDEO FOR “ENEMY SEX”.

EVERGREEN TERRACE RELEASE VIDEO FOR “ENEMY SEX”.

“Enemy Sex”, the new video from Jacksonville, Florida’s EVERGREEN TERRACE, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Salvatore Perrone, who has previously worked with PARKWAY DRIVE, BURY YOUR DEAD, BRING ME THE HORIZON and SUICIDE SILENCE.

“Enemy Sex” comes off EVERGREEN TERRACE’s latest album, Almost Home. Continuing its blistering combination of melodic hardcore and metal, EVERGREEN TERRACE has gone back to its roots on Almost Home. “I think this record will surprise the new listeners as well as have the old ones stoked,” stated guitarist Josh James. ” I’d say its best described as a good mixture of Burned Alive by Time [2002] and Wolfbiker [2007].”

“We’ve always had a lot of pop culture references in our song titles and this record is no exception,” said James. “Before we even started writing new songs, we already have a list of titles from books, movies, and comedians. Half of the song titles on this record are pulled from the lyrics. The others are pop culture references that relate to the lyrical content.”

Almost Home track listing:

01. Enemy Sex
02. Almost Home (III)
03. God Rocky is This Your Face?
04. We’re Always Losing Blood
05. Sending Signals
06. Mario Speedwagon
07. Failure to Operate
08. Hopelessly Hopeless
09. The Letdown
10. I’m a Bulletproof Tiger
11. Not Good Enough
